It is truly amazing in a world that is so interactive, so medically aware and so connected that many are just eating themselves to death. As we move from the close connection to our food sources we have lost the understanding of just what food means. No longer a necessity of life its a addiction. My mission if I do nothing else is to try and do my own little bit to reverse that. That can include suppliments but only if they come from sound, ethical and above all quality source. For me that is Revolution Foods in the UK simply the best I have ever used.
Some tips and links that shaped what I do. In addition to whole food I really only trust one suppliment provider Revolution foods andspecifically their Raw Sport line

USE DUE DILLIGENCE
If you think about it a fully made budget meal from a supermarket costs below £2-3, for that to have animals and crops raised processed, packed and shipped...how can that be a chain that looks after its animals and workers. Take the time look into your food chain it really is worth it.
MATCH INTAKE TO YOUR DAY
The linked video is a wee bit cheesy but hopefuly it gets the point across that hitting your body with food just when its is slowing down leads to its storing it. Starving it when it needs to perform hits your capabilities.
There are so many different things to do out there. Try making flat bread, try sprouting beans (my favourate) try making your own jerky. Hummas makes a fantastic endurance food.

MAKE CHANGES, ONE STEP AT A TIME
I was once presented with a new client who decided to give up, coffee, booze, meat & smoking all at once. Its too much, gradual changes tend to stick massive "resolutions" fall against the rock of reality far too often. If you look to us for support we use a mixture of messaging, emails and one on one to ensure that angel on your shoulder is louder than the other guy. A hour a week face to face is too short. Steady and available support works so much better.
HEALTHY = MISERY
Nope use balance. Problem now is where as we may have had 90% whole/self prepared food and 10% "treats" we have reversed the trend. My clients initially mostly answer when I ask when was the last time you made a meal from scratch answer "special occasions". Just get the balance right and you will be fine. Chat with us there are thousands of ways of enjoying food quickly without the junk.
SEEK HELP FROM TRUSTED SOURCES
The fitness industry churns out 10000 new PTs a year 80% of which are out of the game after a year. Find those who endure and see if you can find clients who recommend them. Egotistical I know but I am in year 9 now, why? Because I can live without the business and so have time to do it right without worrying about daily turn over. End result its professional pride that drives me not pure finances. I have many certificates .....means nothing its what you do with that knowledge that counts.

A MAN IS WHAT HE EATS
Often quoted, seldom followed. It is only by truly breaking down what you eat that you can see where the gaps are. Fatique, bone issues, obesety injury often have their source in a poor diet (not a cheap diet). Some of best outcomes client wise have come from closely examining this area.
Have a look at this paper I did for a nutrition course ...sugars are probably as dangerous as tobacco if you are in a rush look at the health risks from sugar list halfway through the PDF .
IF SOMEONE TRIES TO SELL YOU A EASY WAY ITS A LIE
We are a society that loves a answer in a box. Buy these corrective shoes it will solve your running issues. Buy this diet it will solve your image issues. Join this gym. I get this but have found only by taking a sustained and gradual and SUPPORTED route can you make big change. Its taken me 2.5 years to break with full time Army service and get to the point I am now...worth it yes....easy hell no. Its the same for my runners or nutrition clients. I like this piss take of cross fit (I really like X Fit by the way) but it does emphasise the point choose a route, dedicate and stick with it. Don't just do it as a fad or because you are tolld you should.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE JUST HAVE FUN
I dispare some times when I meet people who have been destroyed by the unending body shaming, media horror stories and marketing push. Take a breath then enjoy your life. If you want to make changes I can help but its too short to let others spoil it for you. I am in awe of people who get called fat and then cycle end to end of europe. The media world literally kills people.
